Dear Students,

Mrs. Bush and I continue to be inspired by the compassion, generosity, and patriotism of our Nation's young people.  By volunteering your time, you are helping those in need and making a positive difference in your communities and our Nation.

In January 2002, I created the USA Freedom Corps to encourage all Americans to help someone in need.  I asked every person in America to commit 4,000 hours over a lifetime - or about 100 hours a year - to serving their neighbors in need.  The response was immediate and enthusiastic, and a growing number of Americans, young and old, have answered the call to service.

Through this website, you can find ideas that match your interests.  I encourage you to demonstrate the great spirit of our Nation through volunteer service.  I also hope you will set high goals, work hard in school, and make healthy choices.  Your idealism, hope, and energy will make a difference in our country's future.
