Service Project Success Stories

These are a few of the success stories we've come across.  After you develop and implement your project, please let us know about it!

Apple Children in Kindergarten, after learning the alphabet, designed an alphabet coloring book. The class then presented the book to preschoolers in a Head Start daycare.

Apple A first grade teacher had her students interview elderly members in their community and then chronicle their histories and stories into a book that was presented to the local library.

Apple A second grade class adopted a local Head Start group. Using their own books, the students practiced their reading until they could read their books flawlessly. Each student was then paired with a Head Start student. The second grader read to the younger child. The second graders also gathered recyclable cans and bottles, turned them in for money, and used the proceeds to buy additional new books for the Head Start classroom.
